Clean lines and flowing connections are just some of the impressive features of this family dream home.
The contemporary and environmentally conscious design boasts a delight for family living with every inch of space utilised.
“ A spacious and contemporary treat! ”
Previously a tennis court, the site has been transformed into a generous 60 square dwelling to fit five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a family room, formal study, lap pool and four car garage. Despite the seemingly flat site, extensive preplanning was required to cope with limited space and the need for retaining walls between the neighbouring properties. The result is not just a well-proportioned home but one that is adaptable, flexible and designed to take full advantage of the northern sun. A key feature of the design is the versatility of the rooms, each space is directly interconnected to another in order to maximise flexibility.
Entering the house, you can immediately grasp the notion of making the most of the space, this was of great importance and a priority in the design brief. The placement of many floor-to-ceiling natural timber windows and bi-fold doors emphasises the advantage of abundant natural light penetrating into the house. The open living space features American oak flooring in a dark shade, complemented by the crisp white walls and contemporary furniture. Large, strategically placed windows around the living are provides not only a natural light source but an inviting view to the lap pool.
A prominent feature directs your eyes to the clear-glass balustrade surrounding the oak floating staircase. The hallway windows at the top add up to another exceptional design feature of the home. These windows were cleverly designed to form a pattern on the ground with the afternoon sun and simultaneously allowing space for paintings or family portraits to be hung above them.
“ Simple yet clever design details create maximum visual impact… ”
