The People Behind WOLF Architects
Our Melbourne Architecture Firm
WOLF Architects is one of Melbourne’s most established and respected architecture firms, with a practice history spanning over three decades of residential, luxury and commercial design across Victoria and beyond.
What began as a singular vision in Toorak in 1993 has grown into a multidisciplinary Melbourne architecture firm driven by a shared commitment to design excellence, technical precision and an uncompromising standard of delivery. We are proud of what we have built, not just the homes, but the team, the culture and the reputation that defines WOLF Architects today.
Our studio is based in Malvern East, Melbourne, and our work extends across Australia’s most prestigious suburbs and internationally. Every project that leaves this studio carries the collective intelligence, passion and precision of the people who created it.
We are not a volume practice. We are selective by design. And we are deeply proud of the team that makes that possible.
A Firm Built on Talent, Mentorship and Shared Standards
At WOLF Architects, the strength of our work is inseparable from the strength of our people. Our team has been built deliberately over decades, with each member chosen not just for their technical ability but for their alignment with the values and standards that define this practice.
Many of our team members have a connection to WOLF that predates their employment. Relationships forged in university studios, through mentorship and through years of shared creative endeavour have produced a team that does not simply work together but genuinely understands one another’s thinking. This depth of professional cohesion is what allows us to deliver the level of design precision and quality our clients expect.
We are a Melbourne architecture firm that believes great design is a team achievement. Every project is the result of collective effort, rigorous review and the cumulative knowledge of a practice that has been refining its craft for over thirty years.
Meet Our Team
Taras Wolf
Artistic Director
Taras Wolf is the founder and Artistic Director of WOLF Architects, and one of Melbourne’s most distinctive and accomplished architectural minds. A design prodigy who knew his calling by the age of seven, Taras sold his first gallery artwork at sixteen, completed his first interior design project at seventeen, and delivered his first built architectural project in Toorak by 1993, marking over 33 years of visionary practice across Australia and internationally.
As the first applicant ever accepted into the University of Melbourne by portfolio alone, Taras went on to earn multiple degrees with first-class honours and later taught at the university for nearly a decade, mentoring students from their first year through to their Masters. His influence on the next generation of Melbourne architects reflects a commitment to design education that extends well beyond the studio.
Taras brings a uniquely multidisciplinary approach to architecture, enriched by a background spanning sculpture, photography and graphic design. Alongside his architectural career, he founded a dance school and competed professionally in ballroom dancing at an international level for fifteen years, a discipline that instilled in him an extraordinary sense of spatial awareness, rhythm and precision that continues to shape every space he designs.
Widely respected for his exacting standards and authoritative design thinking, Taras is a sought-after international lecturer and a longstanding examiner for the Architects Registration Board of Victoria. At WOLF Architects, he brings this extraordinary breadth of lifelong artistic discipline and industry leadership to every project, crafting bespoke, immersive spaces that harmonise form, function and elegance.
Bin Xu
Senior Associate
Bin Xu is the Senior Associate at WOLF Architects and the most experienced member of the team, having been an integral part of the practice for over 15 years. His relationship with WOLF Architects began long before his formal role, having originally studied architecture under Taras Wolf at the University of Melbourne before bringing his exceptional talents into the studio. This foundation of mentorship and shared design philosophy has made Bin one of the most trusted and influential figures within the practice.
Renowned for his formidable expertise in construction methodologies and technical detailing, Bin consistently leads the firm’s largest and most complex architectural projects. He possesses a rare ability to bridge the gap between ambitious visionary design and practical execution, ensuring that every conceptual nuance is translated with precision into built reality on site.
Bin’s deep industry knowledge, unwavering dedication and masterful project leadership are fundamental to the quality and consistency that defines WOLF Architects. For clients undertaking complex builds, Bin’s involvement provides an assurance of delivery that few architecture firms in Melbourne can match.
Ryan Vo
Senior Architectural and Interior Designer
Ryan Vo’s connection to WOLF Architects began well before his permanent role, having completed extensive internships and work experience with the firm during his studies at Monash University. By the time he joined the team full time, Ryan was already fully versed in the distinctive ways of WOLF, making his transition seamless and his contribution immediate. He has now been an indispensable member of the team for a decade.
Ryan excels as an interior design specialist, bringing a refined, detail-oriented sensibility to the firm’s bespoke spatial designs. His eye for materiality, proportion and spatial experience ensures that the interior of every WOLF project is as considered and resolved as its architecture.
Originally from Vietnam and fluent in multiple languages, Ryan brings a cultural versatility that significantly enhances the studio’s global reach and client relationships. He frequently leads the firm’s overseas projects and serves as a trusted guide for Asian-speaking clients, ensuring a seamless and world-class architectural experience regardless of geography or language.
Ryan’s profound understanding of the studio’s design ethos, combined with his exceptional interior expertise and multilingual communication skills, makes him one of the most valuable and well-rounded members of the WOLF Architects team.
Aahna Kamboj
Marketing and Content Specialist
Aahna Kamboj brings a rare combination of creative intelligence and strategic thinking to WOLF Architects as the practice’s Marketing and Content Specialist. Hailing from India, her exceptional academic ability earned her a prestigious scholarship to study Graphic Design at the University of Melbourne, where she developed the visual and communicative skills that now underpin the firm’s brand presence.
With extensive multidisciplinary experience across marketing and communications, Aahna leads the practice’s branding division, ensuring that every piece of content, every campaign and every public-facing narrative flawlessly reflects the standards and values of WOLF Architects. She is the driving force behind the studio’s digital presence and the architect of the firm’s voice across all platforms.
Her dynamic, forward-thinking approach is fuelled by an unwavering dedication to seeing the WOLF brand dominate the digital world. Through her marketing expertise and relentless drive, Aahna ensures that WOLF Architects not only commands a powerful digital presence but continually maintains its status as the most valued and influential voice in architectural design.
Jaskiran
Interior Architecture Specialist
Jaskiran brings an exceptional architectural pedigree and a deeply empathetic approach to her role leading interiors at WOLF Architects. Originally from Chandigarh in India, she completed her Bachelor of Architecture at the highly prestigious Chandigarh College of Architecture. Established in 1961 at the behest of the legendary Le Corbusier, this foundational education set a high benchmark, and Jaskiran notably graduated at the very top of her class. Following this early success, she relocated to Melbourne to complete her Master of Architecture at RMIT University.
Since joining the WOLF team in 2018, Jaskiran has been instrumental in shaping our most exclusive residential spaces. She cut her teeth on a variety of our most prestigious luxury homes, making a significant impact on high profile projects including the acclaimed contemporary Toorak mansion designed for Janine Allis.
While her architectural training is comprehensive, Jaskiran has found her true passion and absolute focus in interior design. Her unique gift lies in her profound sensitivity to the emotional wellbeing of our clients. By deeply understanding how a physical space impacts the daily lives and moods of the people living within it, she translates personal visions into reality. This empathetic approach is the driving force behind the stunning, emotionally resonant interiors proudly showcased across our portfolio.
One Firm, One Standard
Every member of the WOLF Architects team operates to the same standard, what we internally call the Wolf Standard. It is not a checklist. It is a shared understanding of what great architecture looks and feels like, built over decades of practice, mentorship and collective refinement.
Whether you are working with Taras on a landmark Toorak residence, with Bin on a complex multi-level build, with Ryan on a bespoke interior, or communicating with Aahna about the practice, you are engaging with a team that is unified in its commitment to delivering the very best.
This is what it means to work with an architecture firm in Melbourne that has spent over thirty years earning its reputation, one project at a time.
