Palace of Assembly in Chandigarh, India
Exploring new possibilities.
The advantage of a multicultural team is in its ability to think globally and take advantage of opportunities wherever they may be on this planet. We receive many enquiries each year from India, a great county that holds approx. 1.3 billion of the world’s human population.
Whilst there is interest in using our Architectural services, it’s not always so easy to design a building without understanding all of the local conditions and restraints. Thus it makes sense for WOLF architects to establish an office in India, where the economy is rapidly expanding.
In 2018 Jaskiran Kaur worked at WOLF Architects Melbourne head office, where she was exposed to many aspects of the practice and proved herself as a valuable team member.
Jaskiran originates from the beautiful city of Chandigarh, which was the dream city of India’s first prime minister Sh. Jawahar Lal Nehru. Chandigarh is internationally renown for it’s architecture and was planned by the famous Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier. As a city of significant modern and historic architecture, Chandigarh seems the ideal location for WOLF Architects to make its first small steps into India.
Following Jaskiran’s time at Wolf Architects she returned to Chandigarh to research the local market and methods for practising architecture. We expect her to head WOLF architects first branch in India and look forward to her findings.
Stay tuned for more news on this.
More on Chandigarh and Le Corbusier.
Jaskiran graduated as the top student of architecture in Chandigarh, a city famous for its modernistic architecture. Trained under the lineage of Le Corbusier and having done her internship at WOLF Architects Jaskiran now represents WOLF Architects in India and heads our East Asian operations. As a multi talented professional with drive, ambition and determination she brings much to the WOLF movement. Further to being an architect she enjoys dancing, creating her own clothes, sketching and adventure.
She is fluent in several languages.
